Increased performance with greater energy efficiency

The Power10 processor higher per-core performance as compared to previous Power generations, enabling more efficient scaling, smaller carbon footprint and oEscala servers have long been a leader in embedding better RAS features than industry standard x86 products with sophisticated error handling and concurrent maintenance for many hardware components (NVMe drives, PCIe adapters, power supplies…)

The Escala Power10 servers benefit from enhanced RAS features at processor and memory level, including:

  • New Differential DIMM technology (DDIMM)
  • Active Memory Mirroring (AMM) for the hypervisor, to provide resiliency from uncorrectable memory errors
  • Redundant system clock

The service processor functionality is now delivered through the eBMC (enterprise Base Management controller). It allows you to manage your servers though a standard API with the tooling already deployed in your data center.ptimized TCO with a corresponding reduction in per-core software licensing costs. Insights can be produced faster as compared to Power9 from in-core AI inferencing capability with no additional hardware required. Sustainability is reinforced by providing up to 33% lower energy consumption for the same workload as the previous version.

To provide high-speed computing and processing the Escala Power10 enterprise server also features:

  • PCI express 5.0 (PCIe 5.0) for system interfaces that double the I/O bandwidth thus allowing to process efficiently data-intensive workloads.
  • Only non-volatile memory express (NVMe) drives for internal storage providing large capacity of high-speed storage at lower cost as compared to external storage drawer All NVMe drives are driven directly from the system backplane with no PCIe card or cables required.

The Power10 processor’s Matrix Math Accelerator architecture brings AI inferencing right where your data resides for faster insights. All data can be in memory encrypted simply and transparently without management overhead or performance impact thanks to addition AES encryption engines. Exposure to future threads is also dramatically reduced with support for post-quantum cryptography and fully homomorphic encryption
