Eviden Covercrypt is an advanced encryption solution based on hybrid post-quantum cryptography and fine-grained access control. It enables organizations to protect sensitive data while defining precise decryption rules based on user attributes and security policies. Designed for modern distributed environments, it helps secure data at scale without increasing key management complexity.
Covercrypt protects data by combining classical and post-quantum cryptographic algorithms in a hybrid encryption model. Data is encrypted in such a way that only authorized users, defined by access policies, can decrypt it. This ensures strong confidentiality even in environments where data is widely distributed or shared across multiple systems.
Unlike traditional encryption, which relies on managing large numbers of individual encryption keys, Covercrypt embeds access control directly into the cryptographic process. This means encryption policies are enforced at the algorithmic level, enabling scalable data sharing without the operational overhead of per-user key distribution.
Covercrypt is aligned with the ETSI TS 104 015 standard, developed within the ETSI Cyber QSC (Quantum-Safe Cryptography) framework. It is also designed in accordance with recommendations from leading cybersecurity authorities such as ANSSI, BSI, and NCSC regarding the transition to post-quantum cryptography and hybrid encryption strategies.
Hybrid post-quantum encryption combines traditional cryptographic algorithms (such as elliptic curve cryptography) with post-quantum algorithms designed to resist quantum computer attacks. This dual-layer approach ensures that data remains secure today while also being protected against future quantum threats.
