Our Policy & Standards Compliance
Many Internet users with disabilities find websites difficult or even impossible to use simply, because of the way they are designed. We have, therefore, designed our website to be as accessible as possible and compatible with the types of adaptive and assistive technology used by people with disabilities, including screen readers and screen magnifiers.
We endeavour to ensure that all the pages contained within this website comply with the Accessibility Guidelines or General Principles of Accessible Design laid down by the WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) Working Group of the W3C.
To this end, we conduct regular audits, updates and training sessions, propagating accessible practices and solutions amongst our teams. Below, we also share a snapshot of our latest audit.
Compliance Status
Our site has been audited against the WCAG 2.2 AA standards. Of the 44 applicable guidelines, 54.55% of the criteria are fully supported, while an additional 32% are partially supported.
We strive to make our website accessible to all users, incorporating assistive technologies and supporting diverse ways of interacting with digital content. Below are the key accessibility features and areas for improvement:
- Video Accessibility: All videos include synchronized captions to support users with hearing impairments.
- Inclusive Instructions: Site instructions are not reliant solely on sensory characteristics, ensuring broader accessibility.
- Color Independence: Content and functionality are generally not conveyed through color alone.
- Text Over Images: Text is used instead of images of text, except for essential branding elements.
- Contrast Ratios: Interactive elements meet a minimum contrast ratio of 3:1 for visual clarity.
- Adjustable Spacing: Spacing between text elements (letters, words, lines, and paragraphs) can be customized.
- Keyboard Navigation: Navigation is fully supported via keyboard, with no focus trapping issues.
- No Time Limits: Webpages are designed without time restrictions, ensuring users can interact at their own pace.
- Descriptive Titles: Every page includes a descriptive title that reflects its content.
- Multiple Navigation Methods: Users can locate content using more than one navigation method.
- Consistent Navigation: The site offers predictable and repeatable navigation patterns for ease of use.
Non-accessible content
For the utmost transparency, we acknowledge there are areas that still need improvement, and we are actively working on these:
- Content Bypass Options: Some pages lack features like ‘skip to main content’ links to bypass repetitive content.
- Descriptive Link Text: Several links across the site use vague or non-descriptive text.
- Error Messaging in Forms: Forms provide error messages for invalid input but lack clear suggestions for corrections.
- Screen Reader Status Messages: Status messages for forms are not programmatically determined or announced to screen readers.
