Introduction

CYDERCO project is funded by the European Union under Grant Agreement No. 101128052 and is supported by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre.

The project, coordinated by Eviden Technologies SRL, has a 36-month duration starting on the 1st of October 2023, and a total budget of 2.881.082 euro, with a funding rate of 50% of the action’s eligible costs.

CYDERCO project aims to develop, test, and validate technologies that will support and enhance the detection and response capabilities of relevant entities, including private and national SOC’s, to fight against cyber threats that affect network and information systems across the European Union.

The project has the purpose to enable uniformity and strength as well as align technical and administrative controls against threat actors by reducing chaos during security incidents for private and national security expects.

This will be achieved in part by developing technologies and processes in order to enable threat intelligence sharing in an effective manner and empower security controls in public and private organizations.

In addition, the project has the purpose to strengthen the incident response process using technologies such AI Analytics, SIEM, HIDS, IPDS as well as TIP.

Project Objectives

Objective 1: Develop a platform for advanced detection of malicious activities and security incidents to support and strengthen SOC ecosystems. With this platform different entities will be able to perform   cyber threat detection and analysis with real-time monitoring. The entities will also be able to analyze data from network traffic to detect malicious activities and incidents that affect the resilience of network and information systems.

Objective 2: Develop a platform for storing and sharing actionable threat intelligence among entities dealing with cyber threats. This way, the platform will support the information sharing among entities dealing with cyber threat detection and analysis and/or with public authorities (including competent authorities and CSIRTs under the NIS Directive).

Estimated results and impact

Expected Outcome #1

World-class cyber threat detection capacities across the Union, strengthened with state-of-the-art technology in areas such as AI.

Expected Outcome #2

Sharing of Threat Intelligence between entities dealing with cyber detection and threat analysis.

Expected Outcome #3

Threat intelligence and situational awareness capabilities supporting strengthened collaboration

Consortium

CYDERCO is implemented by a consortium made up of 4 partners from 3 European countries:

The project consortium provides a mix of large industrial entities, academic institutions, public sector and technology transfer institutions.

They have well defined complementary expertise and roles that address the crucial needs to generate high-value outcomes.
